Jane Short is undoubtedly one of the finest enamellers working in Britain today. From her workshop in Brighton, Jane works predominantly on commissioned pieces, and occasionally is asked to enamel the work of other top silversmiths.
Jane’s work can be found in many collections, including the Goldsmiths’ Company’s permanent collection, the V&A, the Crafts Council, the Ashmolean Museum, the Fitzwlliam Museum, the National Museum of Scotland, and Lichfield Cathedral. This sizeable canon of work on public display is true testimony to her creativity and capability in her chosen field.
Several of Jane’s superb engraved and enamelled pieces will be available at the Summer Exhibition of John Higgins Contemporary Silver, which starts on 21st June 2018 until 1st July 2018. The Gallery, in Lindfield West Sussex, is open every day throughout the exhibition from 9.30am to 4.30pm
