Phil Barnes is a second generation enameller – his father Fred began his enamelling career in 1926 – and Phil went through a traditional apprenticeship route, and has had his own workshop, with apprentices of his own, perpetuating this traditional way of learning a craft skill. He is a highly skilled enameller and engraver, creating sumptuous and rich pieces that are simply magnificent. Much of his work has been for the UK’s top goldsmiths and jewellers, including Asprey, Garrard, Cartier, and his work destined for Heads of State including the Royal Family and the Sultan of Brunei.
His work has won many many Awards. Phil’s work is always quite exceptional and undoubtedly can do nothing but appreciate in value in years to come.
