Rauni Higson

Rauni trained in Gold and Silversmithing for 3 years at the Lahti Design Institute in Finland before coming to the UK and completing her Degree in 1996 at the renowned Birmingham School of Jewellery. Rauni set up her workshop near Caernarvon North Wales in 1997, with support from the Prince’s Youth Business Trust. Combining Fold-forming, with traditional metalworking techniques, Rauni pushes her Craftsmanship and understanding of her materials to the limit. Rauni became a Freeman of the Worshipful Company of Goldsmiths in 2010. Her work has been widely exhibited, and some of her work is already included within the Goldsmiths’ Company Modern Collection. Her work is always distinctive, very tactile, and increasingly collectable.
